This year in the master I decided to do something that I've never done in here before. I didn't put a Christmas tree in here. I'm typically the girl that loves a tree in almost every single room. But this year I want to make the focal point the arching over the window bench.
I am SO happy with that choice! It really is the "ohhh and ahhh" that I was going for.
Entering into the room the very first thing that you see is the mantle. I kept it extremely simple on the mantle this year, with an asymmetrical garland, candle sticks to bring some height and 2 stockings. I tend to keep the mantle in our bedroom very minimal and modern lately, with I am slowly implementing more of that style throughout my home.
I love the deep plum color that I used for fall too. It went along with my holiday color palate. I'm happy I was able to get 2 season uses out of a lot of my things. That is the beautiful thing about buying a few investment pieces such as this Afloral garland, because then tend to be so versatile for many different seasons.

All I did over on the bed side of the room was add a couple pillows and throws, some foliage.
I love that even adding 5 simply things can make such the difference immediately.
Basket Woven Knit Throw Blanket in the color Mahogany, I got 2 of them from Target this year. I was drawn to the color as it is more of a wine red which was my goal. I wasn't ready to do a true red.

Now to my favorite part!
Ta, Da! See what I mean by wanting it to be the focal point?! I think it defiantly understood it's job.
I don't miss having a tree in here anymore with having this show stopper. It is almost like the windows were made to have this beautiful garland surrounding it.

I was beyond excited for this "Merry Christmas" banner to arrive. I had envisioned it to be perfect for this very spot and it was. Thanks Amazon for this find.

It isn't Christmas without a little mistletoe action right? I created the idea of it over my large floor mirror. All used was a stem and some ribbon. Easy and that! Perfect finishing touch!
