GUEST HOUSE MAKEOVER WITH WALMART

This post is sponsored by Walmart, but all opinions are my own.

You guys!! I’m so super excited to share a fun little makeover I did to the guest house using items from Walmart !  You all know I’m a (not so secret anymore) lover of all things Walmart , so when they asked if I wanted to collaborate with them over the course of the next few months, I was pinching myself to say the least!  This month they wanted to focus on some fun beachy vibes that you can add in to your décor to keep the feel of summer going strong.  I knew right away that I would love to do a little “update” on the guest house since that is the area that gets all the leftovers.  I haven’t really done much to it since we completed it 6 years ago, so putting some intentional thought into it got me excited!

So you know top on my list was bedding.  Because, hello! I’m a bedding addict!  I saw this amazing chambray comforter set that came with matching shams and a throw pillow and knew it was coming home!  I love the fact that it’s a comforter so you don’t need to buy the duvet insert (lets all celebrate saving money!) And I also love to layer comforters at the end of the bed so when you are snuggling without sleeping you can just pull it up and snuggle in!  And it also gives the extra cozy vibe all beds need:)

And you gotta love Walmart for the amazing price, especially considering it’s a 5 piece set!  And I also love Walmart because they always offer free shipping over $35. Which isn’t too hard to do:) I added this fun throw that has oh so much texture on top to bring in the warm neutral tones!

I mean….tassels.  You know I was sold on that fact alone!  I also love that this piece is a great transition piece.  I have a feeling it will come into the house in the fall and cozy things up in there as well:)

Some may ask if three blankets is a bit excessive. lol!  Nope! Not one bit:)  Did you know if you go to a Pottery Barn store and actually look at their beds you’d find out in a hurry that they use 4-6 blankets to give it the cozy snuggly, I wanna crawl in you this second sort of feel!  And there you’d end up spending over $1.000 easy!  If you want to re-create the look and feel of a bed like that, then you’re going to have to add layers…and lots of them.  Which is exactly the kind of bed I want my guest to have;)

I also added in this super inexpensive shag rug and these baskets I need in every room of my house to cozy it up even more!  Ps, Walmart even knocked $10 off the price, so considering it’s a set of 3, and the quality is amazing, this is a great deal!

Also, did you happen to see that adorable little blue lumbar pillow? !?  Its the perfect accent on this bed, along with the perfect price!  That little guys looks completely high end and only costs $12.00!!

The last fun accent I got to complete this little makeover was this set of two coral prints.

I love the fact that although they have a beach feel to them, they are also neutral and could go anywhere!  They are also super easy to swap out since I just leaned them up against the wall to cover the thermostat!

Thanks for following along on this little makeover!  If you check out my Instagram page you can see the video tour, and also what’s hiding on the other side of the room!  LOL, we will address that side next month with another fun makeover that I can’t wait to show you!!

But for now let’s all just let out a little *gasp* that Allie brought color into a living space!:)

Shocking, I know ;)

AND……just for fun…let’s look back at the progression of this little space…

It started out as a little garage…

We raised the ceiling, added windows, and drywalled the space!

And believe it or not the very first time I decorated it 7 years ago I added LOTS of color!!!

I could only handle it for a shot time, LOL, so back to super neutral it went!

And now today.  The perfect mix of color and texture.  I think this one is a winner;)
