Welcome to the back of Ryan's Man Cave!
We have 7 different out building on our property and one of them is Ryan's Man Cave. This building use to be an old chicken cope, crazy! But shortly after we moved in he turned this space into his little shack. It has the best view on the property on this deck. If I'm being honest we really haven't spent much time out on the deck the past few years as it really wasn't too put together.. After a fun surprise of getting a hot tub and adding that to part of this deck (that'll be a later blog post!) it has quickly become one of our families favorite spots to hang out all together, enjoying the beautiful countryside wide!
I had 2 different options I was deciding from rug wise. This one and a thicker fringe one. I thought I had made up the decision in my head one what one I was going to for sure do but when I styled both of them my head was confused! I loved both of them. I loved that the Waseca rug didn't look like an outdoor rug and that it added instant coziness. It's thick and so very soft, and actually made out of recycled yarn.
I ended up sitting on it a couple days and ultimately ended up going with the --- Stephan Outdoor Area Rug from Boutique Rugs. In the end I really love this one and it was the one I thought I had my mind set on 100% In the beginning . It has more of the look I had envisioned with it still looking manly because I do have to remember this is his man area haha. It also hides so much more dirt from all the animals and since its a flatweave rug it dries out quickly. All big selling points:)
The coloring is perfect! With the manly outdoorsy feel of the darker tones but also bringing in lighter tones to tie in the woven part of the chairs and the cream cushions.
The first thing I got for this space was the furniture. I mean, heart eyes all around!! Target does it again and pulled me right in.
The woven with the cream and then the dark black legs They had my name written all over them with that contrast look!
And I thought how fitting for this little back deck area..
They are super comfortable with cushions on either side of them, along with the foot stand - you are set and could sit there for hours enjoying the view! Ryan was just happy because it *almost* feels like a recliner;)
To make it feel a little extra home-y I added in these faux pathos plants. I love using faux any chance I can get since they are no maintenance. I'm not the best at keeping everything watered and these are 100% fool proof:)
The other item I got was this little cordless rechargeable light. You know me and ambience;) They shine the prettiest warm white, and then you can also change them to any color under the rainbow (which the kids like to do often) But they are so fun to pull around and set by the hot tub or anywhere we want a little mood lighting. I thought they are perfect for a patio table or somewhere you don't have a plug in. It makes it feel like you're at a little restaurant:)
We have really started to love this space now that it is a little bit more functional for our family! Just in time for summer!
