MAN CAVE UPDATE

allie • Jul 01, 2016

Well the man cave is almost complete.   We tried to get as much of it done as we could before we started the addition.  And there was quite a bit we had done before that I never updated you on.  So I thought I’d share with you where it’s at today.

We added this bar table behind the sectional that we made out of 2×4’s and some pipe legs Ryan got from work.

It works great for extra seating and also for eating while watching tv. We love it so much that we are thinking of extending it behind the rest of the couch so we can add at least two more barstools.

We screwed the legs right into the ground so it is nice and sturdy. And the bar stools are counter height stools we ordered from Target. They are super comfy and have worn great so far.

We also ordered a nice 8×10 shag rug from Overstock.
It is seriously the most comfortable rug ever.  It has flecks of cream and tan and looks great.  It’s so soft we didn’t even use a rug pad underneath, and I’m considering getting one like this for our great room as well.

The tufted ottoman is also from overstock, and we use it all the time to kick our feet up on:)

We also added a bar area in the back.

The whole back wall is left open to be Ryans trophy wall.  We still need to hang antlers, feathers, and more feathers.  I have no say in this part:)

and we are going to add little wood and pipe shelves to the left of the upper cabinets. The cabinets were left over cabinets we had from our house. And the countertop is again, 2x4s that Ryan sanded and screwed together. It’s about the cheapest counter top you can make:) That little fridge used to be a faux wood grain that I painted with chalk board paint and made it look a lot cutermore masculine;)

And the latest project that Ryan has been working on has been the porch.  He put wood underneath the overhang..

and put up the railing.

We used hog fencing instead of spindles, which proved to be cost effective and quite masculine:)

all we have left to do is put a hot tub on this pad of weeds, and then build the rest of the deck around it:) We’ll see when that gets done!

But for now we’ll just enjoy the view…

oh, and I thought it would be fun to do a flashback to what the chicken coop originally looked like….

to how far it has come…

check another outbuilding off the list:)  2 down….1 to go;)
