THE CABIN PORCH

Our Cabin Porch

When buying this cabin, we wanted this space to be an overflow/additional living space! With one side having a cozy daybed with a view of the lake and then on the other side a large dining table area with a little nook for a fridge and a spot to serve food.

the little, tiny serving nook has been a huge game changer with easy reach to come in to dish up for a meal and then head right back outside to out. No mess inside, whoop whoop!

It has served its purpose and beyond.

Let's take a look at the Before....

Can you believe that is the same view?  And we really were able to transform it on a super tight budget.  Using reclaimed free cabinets, laminate counters, peel and stick flooring and adding some board at batten and paint completely transformed the space!

After...

Let's do one more BEFORE facing the other side:)

After...

I'll show you around this porch a little bit today and look at all the details!

Let's talk this beautiful West Elm Reclaimed Wood Dining Table. I was looking for something that could fit as many people as possible but also not be too overwhelmingly big. It is just as beautiful in person; the solid chunk of reclaimed wood is dreamy.  I actually found the table and bench on craigslist but it's still available online and we get compliments on it every time someone comes.  Well worth every penny.

Like I said above this space has been a game changer for not trekking in dirty sandy toes into the main part of the cabin and just keeping the majority of that in the porch.

I wanted to do a Marble Laminate Countertop for this little buffet area. I wrote up a whole blog post on affordable countertop and this one is on that line up! So affordable and fun!

The Retro Fridge was just a perfect addition! We keep beverages and condiments in this fridge for easy to grab at dinner time or if someone needs a water throughout the day

The lounge area.

This spot has the prettiest view of the lake if you are sitting on the daybed. It feels like you are sitting on the deck but sitting indoors.

The sunsets through the windows behind the daybed so the evening sunset shines through this porch and it is just as dreamy as you could imagine!

And lastly let's talk flooring. You will never guess what it is...

This flooring is peel and stick! yes, it is! Take a read on every detail you'd want to know regarding these peel and stick tiles on the blog post here!

They were the completion to the porch this summer!

I never thought I would love a spot so much but I'm not going to lie this cabin has a special place in my heart. It always makes me a little bit sad each fall when we have to close it up for the winter, but it is something to look forward to so much come late spring.

Until then little Dunns Cabin!!
