A Quick Before & After

Just thought I’d share another mini project I did a couple of nights ago for Whimsy.

My mother-in-law found this bench at a garage sale last year and I never got to it.

It had great bones, was in great shape, and full of potential.

I finally got to her and dressed her up a bit:)

White slips are so classic.  This would be a cute little bench at the end of a bed, or in an entry or reading nook.

I did a flat skirt on this one to give it a bit more of a traditional feel.

I always fall in love with my projects.  I don’t know if it’s because of the labor of love, or seeing the transformation….but, there is no room for her in my house, so to Whimsy she will go:)

We’d love to see you Thursday! :)

  1. Hi Allie,
I just found your blog after seeing a picture of one of your rooms featured on another blog… and I love the “color” scheme of your home! You are so talented and I love your taste! So, of course, I searched all over your blog for your wall colors, but I could not find anything that indicates what paint colors you used. Would you mind sharing — I’m especially loving the dining room/kitchen, sitting area and also your bedroom wall color. Many thanks in advance!
P.S. — I would just like to add that you’ve also really quite touched me by sharing your story and love for your daughter Juliet. Both you and she were and are still clearly blessed to have each other!

  2. LOVE all of your makeovers! I wish I lived closer so I could come to your Whimsy Green sales! Although, my hubby is probably glad we don’t so that I don’t make us go broke :)

Also, just wanted to let you know that I’ve nominated you for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award…from your DIY projects, to faith, to your journey through life…your posts are always so encouraging and inspiring! Check out more about your award here:

Thank you for sharing your life and your passions with us! I have been following your blog for a while. I’ve shared your story with my husband. And I have showed him numerous projects I’d love to do. Last fall, we stopped out at your sale. And wouldn’t you know it, my husband knows your husband. What a small world! I felt kind of silly once I realized I was telling him about people who knows. :) But, I do have a question for you. I’m working on refinishing a dresser. Do you have a favorite “go to” white/cream color?

    1. Thanks so much Jessica:) I can’t say that I have a great go to cream color. All of my trim is decorators white by benjamin moore. I really like the Gull color by martha stewart as well. Not sure if that helps? Thanks for coming out this fall, and your sweet message.

    1. Whimsy green is an occasional shop my sisters and I have in the red barn in my back yard!:). You can find more information on our Facebook page Facebook/whimsygreen
