BEDROOM CHRISTMAS

allie • Dec 14, 2013

I think I had the most fun this year working on my bedroom for the Christmas home tour.  And I’m pretty sure it’s because since we moved in I have never been able to quite figure out/utilize all of the space.  I’ve been picking up pieces here and there and finally have enough furnishings to fill most of the area.

Also, I love glitzy pretty Christmas, but it just doesn’t fit my house style well, so this was an opportunity to use the glitzy I had bought in the past hoping to make it work, and ended up storing it for a few years instead:)

I got this Target Threshold desk this summer as well.  It was originally $100 but was on the Cartwheel App for 25% off.  If you don’t use the Target cartwheel app you really got to check it out.  They’ve got some great deals on there.

I had this chair in the shed that I was given for free, I finally just got to covering it.

I hung a few ornament from the ceiling using 3M command hooks.  I think I used about 100 this year:)  Good thing I have a hook up;)

That fun task lamp is from IKEA.  I loved the brass accents on it, and the black and white cord.

I brought in some sparkly pheasant feathers for the hubs, and again…he wasn’t impressed.  I guess unless they are the real thing I’m not going to win him over.  I made 2 coffee filter wreaths for the windows as well.  I got the forms from the dollar store and had enough coffee filters in my stash to make a few.  I’d say that’s a good use of $2:)

I found this tree at the occasional shop in town here.  I loved how flocked it was…and tall.  It fit perfect under the peak.

The mantle is the one I use in Whimsy.  I pulled it in for the season.  I debated painting it white since the cream is a bit yelllowish, but I ran out of time.

By the time is came to decorating the mantle I was about out of decor and didn’t want to buy anymore.  I made the sign and used what I had left.

The last glimpse is of my favorite new treasure…my Christmas present from my parents that came early!

Although it fits perfectly between these two doors, I originally bought it for under the dormer.  I’m thinking once the Christmas tree is down it will end up over there, although I do like how it reflects more light over here.  We shall see.

So, I didn’t expect our bedroom to take an entire post but I guess I have’t posted in awhile and had a few new things to show you:)  Tates room is next!
