The Before’s

Alright, I finally got to a computer. After 5 days of crazy dust, cement, plaster, brick…and all of the above, we have truly started demolition in our house. It is a mess. Even I think we are crazy:) But…I forgot my camera at the house last night as we are living in two spots at once (thanks Jenna and Kevin!!) so today I’m going to show you the true before’s of the house, which I downloaded before. Check back Thursday for some truly dirty pictures:)

The Kitchen:

and this actually looks pretty good compared to what we have now:) But I will tell you that we took (or are in the process) of taking down everything to the right and left of the stairs. It will be an open staircase. Yay:)

This gives a better view of the stairs. So now when you come in you can see all the way into the living room behind that mystery wall! (If you are having a hard time visualizing, you’ll see it Thursday:)

This was a little den off of the kitchen, which will soon be office/play area. The fireplace is already out, as well as the brick and false ceiling, a small victory for me!! (Oh, and that beautiful striped paneling, on top of another layer of paneling, on top of lplaster and lath!) The simple joys of a 100-year-old house:)

This is the one bathroom on the main level, also off of the kitchen. It was bathroom/laundry room, but since we all know how organized I am, that’s just not going to work. The laundry will be moved up to the master bedroom.

Another view.

This is the living room, a really nice size with some really big windows! The wall to the left will be half open with railing from the stairs. Once again, stay tuned…

I am in love with this railing and posts upstairs, but unfortunately it’s only about 3 feet off the ground:( And our stairs are going to be moving, so I’m going to have to try to save it and re-use it somewhere. Nice carpet huh??

Upstairs bath/Master bath. Look at the trim ladies..ahh!!  To die for, only a few rooms have the big trim and this is one of them. I found a cute $5 dresser at a garage sale that I sanded down and am painting to use as a vanity with a vessel sink. Super exctied!!

The little midget door is going to grow into a full size one and the tub is going to get turned so we can actually stand and take a shower..kinda important:)

The midget door leads into the master, lime green carpet and all!! We are going to vault the ceilings a bit in here and refigure the closet/laundry space.

Another view into the hallway…almost done:)

Tate’s room…it’s mini but it does have the great moulding!!

 Kynlee’s room..full of potential!!

Let the work begin….

Tate helping mom. This was the first wall to come down and it was actually drywall. Not too messy, not like you’ll see:) Tate is in heaven though working at the farm as we call it!

Aren’t they cute?? Such troopers!!!

Sorry for all of the pics, but at least it gives you more of an idea of what we are working with!  Stay tuned…I am getting excited for the afters…the vision is starting to be seen!!
