A couple weeks ago I had the privilege to talk to my friends Rita (ritarogersco) and Cecily (@cecily.dickey) on their podcast, The Boom Clap Podcast. I "met" Rita on Instagram after my dad's story went live. She was a nurse who was posting a lot of the same information we saw in the hospitals that was going on and continues to go on. She has been a wealth of knowledge and is a like-minded believer in Jesus, as well is Cecily, who I just got to meet through the podcast. On the episode we recorded we talked about 3 things...
#1 My Dad
Since I've already shared his story multiple times, you can find it HERE if you haven't read it, we talked more about how we have dealt with the way in which he died and finding peace in that situation. You can also see my video I made talking about the whole story at @prvbsgirl2 on Instagram.
#2 Our decision to not have our kids in sports
It's so funny but this truly has been way more controversial than I thought it would be:) I opened this can of worms up on Instagram one day and the girls heard it and wanted to chat more about it. Both of their families play sports, but yet they were super respectful of our decision to choose a different path for our family and so we chatted more in depth on how we came to that decision:)
#3 Juliet Faith - Trisomy 18
And last we chatted about sweet Juliet and how significant her life was and continues to be, why we didn't choose to abort her (as most of the doctors suggested) since she was deemed incompatible with life, and how this argument is front and center with Roe being overturned and how I feel about that. Click the picture of her if you want to read the blog posts that I wrote throughout the process.
Thanks so much to Rita and Cecily for having me on. It truly felt like I was having a cup of coffee and chatting with good friends. I know Instagram has its major flaws, but I'm so grateful for the community it has provided, the friendship it has brought, and the platform it has given to share our testimonies and hearts!
