A CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPE + TOUR

allie • Dec 11, 2021

This is the first year we have a dining table in front of the fireplace for Christmas and I am a little giddy about it! It makes eating extra cozy ! So I thought I would share this years Christmas tablescape with you!

I started with a pretty black candelabra from Target that sadly is now sold out. I also added some of my favorite greens from afloral.

I like the simplicity of the table decor when it’s not set. The kids can still use it to work or craft or play at, a very important thing when you homeschool:)

I love having candles on the table, there is something magical about the twinkle and you know I’m all about the light shining bright;) Best way to go! Time to add the dishes…

I love the wood + white + black feel. I got these wood chargers from World Market last year and they have been a favorite to use in all the seasons! And the black dishesglasses, and gold silverware are all from Walmart!

The subtle touches of gold make it feel a little fancy and tie in the mantle decor and the star on the Christmas tree:)

I used little wreath gift wrapping toppers from Hobby Lobby to set on the top of the salad plate and made a placecard out of an index card and wrote our names on them. It gives it a personalized feel and is free to do! The beautiful bulbs in the greenery were an added addition that I found when we went to Scheels. Who would have thought youd find beautiful ornaments at a sporting good store? My eyes are always drawn to pretty decor no matter where we are:)

I added lots of texture to the mantle this year with the faux greenery from afloral, a tassel garland from Ballard Designs that’s no longer available, and wood beads from Walmart. A classic set of gold candlesticks is always a beautiful touch to a mantle, and these wooden trees brought in some warmth! And the gold mirror is a bit of an investment but the perfect staple piece for all year round!

We keep the kids stockings on this mantle. I used two different types for extra texture. And you know I’m a sucker for pom poms:) I added little personalized letters that I found from anthropologie last year with a little golden star. The kids love to sneak presents in their siblings stockings and it’s fun to watch them be so excited when they find something in the bottom the whole month of December!

My goal for this year and into the new year is to have more dinners around the table. Something I think is so important that seems to be lost. Sometimes Beckett will even say, can we eat as a family tonight? Yes bud, yes we can:) Come back tomorrow for a little peek into the living room, as we move along on our Christmas home tour!
