Another Garage, Another Paint Job

Sharing an off property garage

Most of you guys know that my sister and I do an occasional sale a hand full times of year. A couple years ago Ryans old boss at the time was selling this garage space in our near by town, we thought how perfect for having a set spot to create and make all of the product for the sale here. It is 3 miles from our house so it isn't a far commute and honestly has been such a blessing to be able to have this part of our job off our home property, it makes it much easier to categorize work and home life.   It's also heated which is perfect to be able to work in all winter long in MN!

As you can tell it needs some love LOL. We haven't touched a thing since purchasing a couple years ago, but since you all know this is the summer of garage and sheds, this one was on the project punch list!

It didn't have a super long list of what needed to be updated other than the obvious.

Before

Seen in the photos below, it isn't pretty!  like at all.  Turd brown coloring yeah that must go ASAP.

First step before spraying, tape off what you don't want painted. I just tapped off the newly painted ceiling and used a piece of cardboard for there ground as I went. I brushed of the doors with a broom and away I went. It took me 4 minutes to do each door! Goodbye, Turd brown!... This was my first time using the Wagner Paint Sprayer. It held almost a whole garage door full of paint but not quite, for amount reference. The price is right on this sprayer!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the garage. Ryan is replacing the walkway door and putting in new windows.

The door is from Menards (not linkable) so if you live by a Menards this is in their exterior door section for $400 after rebate!

Side note, Ryan wanted to keep the door handle so he didn't have to switch keys LOL so that will be getting a coat of paint;)

Next step, siding. I can't be how much it dresses it up with simple siding! It actually was only about $100 in siding. I'll have a fully price breakdown at the end. This is LP smart side from Menards. It's 8" with a 7" reveal.. This is the primes color, it will get painted the small color white as the rest of the garage next!

Once the new siding was finished on the front, it was my turn = PAINT! But before that I decided I'm going to spray the door black first! Ryan didn't want to get a new door handle and switch to another new key so we agreed I could spray the whole thing black with this Rust-Oleum! Quick next little finishing touch. We got these windows at Menards for super inexpensive about $100/piece. But they need a little bit of character. So, I'm going to use this enamel glass paint to make a free pane to make 1 cross down. Just measure the middle and use blue painters' tape to make a straight line to paint. TIP! Let it dry well before painting on the next coat as it takes a couple coats....

I sprayed the front (since the other 3 sides had already been sprayed at the beginning of the project, last! I used the same sprayer as the one I shared in the beginning.

Are you ready for it?! The After!

I mean, woah!! I know we always say this but the transformation of this garage is mind blowing to me!
