CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR

Well, it’s now one week til Christmas and I’m getting this post off just in the nick of time:)  And it’s not because I haven’t been decorated since October! lol!  It’s just the sheer timing of getting the house completely picked up and camera worthy that slowed me down.  So be well assured.  The house never completely looks like this.  Rooms do, but the whole house?!? Nope.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy our very traditional red and white Christmas;)

I was so excited to get another artificial tree this year.  I was bound and determined to get a real tree until this one came along….and it looked so real.  Seeing how amazing our other artificial tree has been (no watering, no needles, no spilling water on presents!) I was sold.  I purchased the tree here, but I think it has since sold out.

I did this tree super neutral with this cozy garland and the sparkly star! And you may have noticed that this room got a little room refresh this winter.  I’ve always wanted to add a plush rug in here to cozy it up a notch:)

And I’ve been so impressed by this one!  And for a 7 1/2′ x 9 1/2′ rug  under $200, I was sold.  You can find the rug here.  This rug sits nicely on the carpet without bunching at all.  I didn’t purchase a rug pad or rug tape or anything;)

I also added some black lamps shades from Target on my lamps.  I love the small dramatic flare it added;)

And another big change in here is the curtains!  I changed out my painted curtains and stream lined them with the rest of the house.  I love the clean, classic, modern white.  All of my curtains from my house/cabin are from Ikea and you can find them here.

The last change is actually this little black table.  I had bought it on clearance over a year ago and it’s been in our basement ever since!

I wanted to update the look to a little more modern, without losing the coziness, and this table helped.  I love the clean lines and sleek design.  You can find the table here.

I kept the mantle fairly simple this year..

A pennant…

A red chalkboard and a hanging print from Vol25.

And here’s a view from the living room looking into the dining.

We have a little sitting area across from the gas fireplace where you can find me most every morning:)

And the dining room got quite festive with all of the christmas trees;)

I got this gorgeous gold silverware on clearance at Target from .75 a piece!  I bought it for the cabin, but thought I’d use it here for the winter;)

And I couldn’t pass up these cute antler napkins and green napkin rings this year!

add a cute Whimsy Green sign and you’re good to go!

and this is quite possible my favorite view from the house…

I love seeing the open stair railing;)  Those stairs were our budget splurge when we redid the house and man I’m glad we didn’t skimp on them!

And then into the kitchen..

The kitchen was pretty simple this year.

Just a few pops of green.

And lastly into the great room.

I love this artificial tree as well.  It’s fuller and more grand than the other one.

You can find this tree here.

I’m impressed with how realistic it looks.

Did I mention it need no water?!?:)
I also kept this mantle super simple.  I’m kind of enjoying having a tv above it so that I don’t have to figure out styling another mantle;)

and one of my favorite spots in this room is the little eating nook.

It gets used often…

Eating, crafting, stenciling, it sees it all:)

I bought this super cute little tray from my sister at Whimsy, and added a black globe from Target that I wrote peace on earth on.

Are you on full on picture overload yet?!?  I think that wraps it up.  Thanks for coming along with me on our house tour, and we wish you a very merry Christmas!!!
