Christmas in the Great Room
Christmas in the great room is usual the showstopper area around here. With the real wood burning fireplace, the walls and walls of windows, that when it snows it truly feels like you are in the middle of a snow globe. A holiday wonderland.
This year you will see a whole new thing added to my Christmas collection. I may be a little crazy but if you didn't already notice it and gasp, yes that is color!! where has Allie and the neutrals gone Hehe. I saw an inspiration photo of Christmas that had this wine color in it and I fell in love with the pop of color. So, I thought to myself, why not try it! Well, here we are.
Let's tour the Great Room!
This fireplace heats a large portion of our house. As it has started to reach below freezing temperatures the fire will be on all day. So, cozy!
This cedar garland is from Purple Rose Home. I really wanted to focus on garlands this year and have they be a big center point. I used two for this mantle and love the assymetrical feel especially since the tree is such a focal point to the right.

Want to know my secret to a magical Christmas tree. Not only with pretty Christmas colors, and textures in the ornaments. That does add to the whole feel, But the real secret is one strand of twinkle lights. Yup that's it! It changes the entire feel!

Did you spy my little wrapping bucket in the corner?!
This year I thought I'm going to put all of my wrapping, ribbons, bows etc all in one spot so its easy to grab and take where ever I want to wrap! I'm excited to get the wrapping going!

Here is the view behind the couch. Very simple. A garland, a couple festive pillows, some greenery, lights and ribbon. Those simple things can make a big impact too. Less is more sometimes, because don't forget the gifts coming under the tree will add a lot more.
