GUEST HOUSE MAKEOVER PART II WITH WALMART

This post is sponorsed by Walmart but all thought and opinions are my own.

Ahh!!! I’m so super excited about the second phase of this makeover and I’m so excited to be partnering with Walmart Home to make it happen!   It changed the feel of this little guest suite so much!

So lets take a break first before more photos and look at the before..

So I definitely had more of a shabby chic vintage vibe going on before this refresh.  And I was so excited to be looking at Walmart for products that still allowed it to have  a comfortable feeling yet add a modern flare to match the rest of my style.

And it all started with these chairs that I fell in love with last month.  I know you all did too because you sold them out in a hurry!  I’ll link them up still in case they come back in stock;)

They are just the perfect blue!  I also love that walmart has free shipping once you spend $35 so these chairs that were already an amazing deal shipped for free!  The next fun walmart purchase I got to update the space were these fun nesting tables!  I have to admit that when I first unpacked them I was like oh dear.  They seemed a little cheesey with contact paper wrapping the top of the table.  But I was willing to commit to them and try them in the space.  You guys, I’m eating my words.  They are one of my favorite items!

I love the double height and also love that the faux marble brings in another element!  These are absolutely perfect for small spaces, first apartments, bedrooms, dorm rooms…and the best part, they are only $47 for both!

I also got these pillows that are just perfect in this space!  I saw this pillow with the little poms on it and thought how unique!  And I also loved how it matched the throw I had gotten the last time that lives at the end of the bed:)

Remember this throw.  Yep, still just as in love!

I feel so scattered because I have so many fun goodies to share!  Let me finish the pillows before I start going crazy on this metal bed!

Do you see those amazing cream cable knit throw pillows?  I”m in love.  The quality is so good and they look fresh in the summer but also oh so cozy for the fall and winter!  So it’s the perfect time to purchase them!  I also love that they add a bunch of neutral texture so you can pair any pillow with them and it looks great!

And while we are on the topic of cozy texture, lets talk about this fun faux sheepskin rug that was only $13!

This is the ivory colored one and it gives a soft spot for feet to land when they are sitting on the chairs.  And the layered look adds another layer of texture and coziness as well!

I think the most obvious change in here was this fun picture ledge!

I love the fact that it covers up our ac unit.  I can easily take down the large print when we need to use the ac, and keep it up all fall/winter when we dont!

I ordered these black frames from walmart and couldn’t believe the price! I got a set of three for $13!  And they are perfect for a picture ledge because they are thin.

And I also got this fun floor lamp!  There were so many things I loved about it.  One that it’s a space saver! I didn’t have enough room in here for a small table so I could put this light in between the chairs without taking up space! I also loved the black and gold design.  It gave the space a modern flare against the slip covered chairs.  And lastly I love the price! It was less expensive than a lamp because it’s half off right now!

Okay, onto the bed already!!

Isn’t she pretty!!! I wasn’t planning on buying a bed for this space.  If you remember, we didn’t have anything the last time I posted…

But then I was scrolling Walmart’s website and saw this bed and couldn’t pass it up!

It was a queen size bed for $138!  It comes in a few colors and I got it in oil rubbed bronze, but then took a $5 can of rustoleum flat black spray paint to the headboard and footboard to match the rest of the black in the room.

And I think she finished off the space perfectly!

So that’s it! What do you think?!? I’m so happy that this space now feels more like me and is ready for guests.  So….whose coming?!?

Hi!! I just absolutely love following your posts, and I’m feeling so inspired to update our home!! I LOVE the way that you point others to Jesus, too!!! We have a sectional in our downstairs family room, and I’d love to follow your pillow advice, but I’m just not sure how to group the pillows on a sectional! I ordered three of the Creme cable knit pillows from Wal-Mart that you had suggested- can you please help me figure out what type of pillows to add to each end and the middle to make them look cute?? Thank you SO much!!! :)

    1. On sectionals I love to add euro size pillows on the end since they are bigger! Ikea has the best inserts and even some great options for covers as well!

  2. How sturdy is the “iron” bed.
I want one for my hubby and me.
We are not small people so it has to be solid!
You are a miracle worker with color and textures!
Walmart really has improved on thei choices!

  3. I love this entire room! I’ll be your guest anytime lol. Can you share where you got that fire place? Thank you and have a blessed day
