LABOR DAY FAMILY CAMP

This past weekend we went to family camp. And it was so much fun! So many people have asked what family camp is. Well, it’s actually at the same Bible camp I went to for a week at a time when I was a little girl. I loved it then, and I still love it now. It might be the nostalgia that hits when you smell the familiar smells, or the quality family time you spend there, or the great sessions you get to listen too. All I know is that we had a blast this year and can’t wait to go again!

A lot of my side of our family heads up to camp as well, so along with a family vacation, it’s also like a mini reunion. We were excited to see Great Grandpa there!

and of course the first thing Tate wanted to do when we got there was to go fishing!

He couldn’t get enough of it.

A lot of my side of our family heads up to camp as well, so along with a family vacation, it’s also like a mini reunion. We were excited to see Great Grandpa there!

He even got grandma to help his find worms…

and his sister to cheer him on…

I couldn’t resist snapping a few pics…

this is where Tate spent most of his weekend:)

and he was catching them left and right. He did get a bit adventurous and went out on the paddleboat to fish as well.

We all had a good chuckle about daddy’s life jacket:)

It almost fit:)

Kynlee opted out of the fishing and spent a lot of time at the beach.

and with Grandma

this is where Tate spent most of his weekend:)

Daddy is the best player ever!!

They had so many fun things to do there. Kynlee and I headed up to the mini farm with Grandma and Aunt Joyce.

The walk there was gorgeous!

Kynlees favorite were the cats.

she liked the bunnies too…

The funniest were the ostriches..

They even tried to eat Grandma’s can!

it got a little stinky there..

but it was fun to see them all!

They also had a race called the Sunset Run. Dad thought it would be fun to run. Mom did not. So Dad ran with Uncle Bob…

They were intense!

and hurting by the time they got back:)

The kids thought it would be fun to get in on the action too..

Yep, those are their running shoes.

Tate jumped the gun and got all embarassed, so opted out at the last minute. This little lady finished strong though!

Grandma’s in the back…she ran most of the race with Kynlee and then mom swooped in for the finish:) Kynlee did great running the 1/4 mile. She may have finished last but I blame it on the shoes!

There were so many things I didn’t get pictures of, like the archery, air rifles, bunk beds, and food. All the food! I loved that I didn’t have to think about cooking a thing for 3 whole days! But the most important part?

Getting to know Jesus better. We had song time with puppets and verses, and then the kids would go to class and we would have a session with a speaker, both morning and night. I can’t think of a better way to grow together as a family!

There are so many good Bible camps around. I”m a bit bias to Camp Forest Springs. If you want more information you can check out their website here.
