The exterior is getting the finishing touches at the Lakeside this spring. We wanted to make sure there was a great place for entertaining outside at all of our rentals so we needed to do a few things, such as --- Let's not forget where this place started at!
Before
This property was VERY over grown with weeds. Trees were growing through the old dock and leaves hadn't
been raked in years. You'll see in all the before photos, so there was a bit of sweat equity that went into clearing up outside here.

= SWEAT EQUITY!! It's amazing what some hard labor and vision can do to clean up the landscape of a rundown place!
We did a family work day, hired one of Ryan's buddys to do the big moving and then I planted scrubs, as well as laying 7 1/2 pallets of flag stone putting my actually heart into this space making sure it's everything it can be for guests!
It is a magical little cottage now!

This giant Checker Board and Pieces are really the star of the show! We really want to be intentional with our rentals and making the most memories for people that come and stay here.
When I came across this checker board I thought "wow that would be perfect for this empty spot" Ta Da! and it couldn't be more perfect!

We knew when walking through this cottage before buying that we would take out this 3 season porch and it would be a deck. We wanted it to be more open and be able to see the lake from inside the living room.
Above the grill was an open space and i got the idea to make a mini version of the lakeside sign from the front of the Cottage.
How adorable does that fit perfect right there and personalized just perfectly!

Ryan's buddy owns a Landscaping Company Nagel Landscaping and Construction. They have been amazing working with to create this space here at the Lakeside as well as the Oaks. They built the retaining wall with huge boulders. I added some flagstone to keep it extremely low maintenance
That entire ground got leveled out by the landscapers so we were able to create a nice study fire pit area! Sitting in these chairs is the most beautiful view of the lake.
I am a big flagstone lover, and we were able to get our hands on 7 1/2 pallets of flagstone and away I went. This job is not for the faint of heart, it's like a puzzle and the biggest workout all in one. But it's worth it to me.

Just a little different right ;)
The path to the lake needed a lot of love, as you can see! We decided to take out the old wooden stairs and put in some amazing granite steps from Cold Springs Granite!! We got to work with Cold Springs Granite for the counter tops in the Kitchen here at Lakeside. They are an exertional company with outstanding products!
If you missed the reveal of the front exterior, you can check that out HERE!!
