THE MAGIC OF PAINT

The Magic of Paint!

Our neighbor out at the Cabin to the left of ours got put up a new shed last year, when he did so he had someone come out and got a quote for his house to be repainted as well. He got quoted $8,000! Isn't that wild!

We couldn't believe that, So Ryan and I offered to do it for him as he has been such a great neighbor and has helped us in many ways!

So we finally scheduled a date for that to happen!! I was just a little excited ;) as the previous coloring (I will put a before pic) needed some updating and the view from our place would change too, especially the view from the kitchen window!

BEFORE

2 tones and gonna look so fresh with a solid paint color! It has such cute character to it, just needs some help with making that character come to life!

Painting Must Haves

The day finally came and away we went! We used our favorite paint sprayer for the entire project. Let me tell you this sprayer is worth its weight in gold... The color he went with was a color match to 1 of the 2 colors on his new shed so everything our match very nicely! Sadly I do not know the name of the color, if you are wondering what it is...

3 hours, 12 gallons of paint, 1 painted house and 2 painted decks, $600 and you have a completely different house!

Sharing most asked questions further down in this blog...

He even ok'ed to painting the aqua steps! Yay HAHA. We painted everything he would allow;)

Watch this video to see how QUICK these steps got painted!

Most asked questions

What kind of prep did we do before painting? - Our neighbor tapped of the large side of the house the day before so we could get started right away in the AM. He tapped off the smaller sides as we painted. Also, the day before he did pressure wash everything, so it was clean.

Did we thin the paint before spraying? - We did not thing the paint beforehand and it worked just fine.

How many coats did it take? - It only took 1 coat! We were a little nervous it wouldn't cover with just 1 coat because the wood siding is so old, but it did great! We've never had to paint more than 1 coat on anything using this paint sprayer.

Did it really only take 3hours to paint the entire house?  - YES! Grated the house isn't very large and this isn't including the prep that he did the day before. But the painting process only took 3 hours!

Is this paint sprayer good for interior or small projects? - I'm not sure I would use this indoors if the house was finished because it is SO MUCH WORK to tap off everything. If it was a new build and you are painting for the first time yes, I would defiantly use it.

Also it works great for smaller projects, such as a cabinet, decks etc etc.

After

What. A. Difference!! Goodness, I love paint more and more everyday lol. But isn't it truly amazing what JUST paint can do.

We defiantly could have done many other things to dress up this cutie but this was the quickest and cheapest way to do so!

The brick chimney looks so good now! In person it looks like it is new brick that's how smooth the paint sprayer puts on paint...

Our neighbor was so thankful and we were so happy to be able to help him!

So fun to look over and see this pretty view now;)
