My vision for this kitchen has come to life 2 years later and oh my goodness it was all worth it! All the HARD HARD work getting to this point in the process of building a house from the ground up. It is paying off!
Raise your hand if you are here for the moody vibe?! I sure am!!
We really couldn't recommend Cabinet Joint enough! They make such beautiful custom cabinets. We ended up going with a mixture of painted and White Oak Cabinets for the kitchen here at the Oaks.
The best part about Cabinet Joint is that you save 20-40% off showroom or big box store prices if you are willing to put them together. You also get to work with your own cabinet coach to design it however you want and get their expertise. They give you step by step videos if you are willing to put them together, which was beyond helpful and made the process so doable for us.
We ordered Beaded inset cabinets with the 'Madison' door and drawer front style.
The painted cabinets are made with paint-grade Hard Maple. The wood cabinets (towers on each side of the sink and framing the fridge) are made with Rift Cut White Oak. All cabinets were ordered unfinished and we opted to paint and stain them ourselves! I have the stain and paint color details shared below!
I took a shot and chose this Rubio Monocoat Stain for the white oak in the color Savannah. It's spendy but the color ended up being PERFECT!! Rubio stain is worth the investment because not only does it stain your cabinets, it also has a built in top coat that protects them. So no need to add anything on top.
We did an appliance garage underneath the glass shelving and I am so happy that we did!
We put an outlet in here which is such a game changer, the appliances never have to leave this spot and are covered up so you wouldn't even know they are there!
I love styling open shelves, it is such a fun/challenging task for a creative to come up with the perfect pleasing layout.
I have these beautiful Stone Dishware set at our home in the darker color. I chose to go with the lighter color for this kitchen and I'm very happy with that decision.
When it came to the hood, I wanted the range hood to be timeless and classic. So, I just used left over trim we had used to trim out and pull in the chair molding on the walls throughout the main floor.
Okay, let's talk countertops now!!
I am absolutely swooning over the rounded backsplash/countertops!
I had seen some inspiration regarding something very similar before we had finalized our choice. I tossed and turned on the idea and eventually decided to go with this instead of a typical backsplash. I think it speaks for itself ;)
The countertops are called Black Mist Granite. I knew going into picking countertops that I would be going dark.
The black mist was and is perfect for what I had envisioned for this kitchen, absolutely gorgeous with the veining.
Fluted Sink. I am so in love with this sink. It was a splurge item but I knew it would be a statement piece as a focal point.
The cabinet color on the bottom cabinets it called "Wooden Acres" by Magnolia. The perfect muddy green. It actually is the same color as the powder bathroom walls.
We decided to purchase more of a heavy-duty paint sprayer to paint the cabinets. We got this one. It is expensive but it is something we will use ALOT, so it is so worth it for us to invest in!
I love these floral stems for the kitchen here at the oaks island and they are truly some of the most beautiful faux florals I have ever seen. A forever floral which makes it worth the cost.
These stools were one of the first things I bought for this kitchen probably close to a year ago LOL. I was worried I wouldn't still love them, well I was wrong. They are one of my favorite touches of the entire kitchen!

The floors are from Urban Floor. This color is no longer available, but "Zumba" is very similar.
